Welcome!

Picture
My name is Leslie Opatril and I am a Canadian musical artist. An alumna of the Victoria Conservatory of Music and Camosun College, I have completed both a Bachelor of Music at the University of Ottawa and a Master of Music in Composition at the University of British Columbia.

I am thrilled to have had pieces programmed by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Symphony New Brunswick, North/South Chamber Orchestra (New York, NY), Sidney Classical Orchestra (Sidney, BC), Elysian Trio, and High Notes Flute Choir. An Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre, I have been commissioned by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, Kamloops Art Gallery, and Elysian Trio.

In particular, I have a love for acoustic music in the classical tradition from solo though chamber to orchestral repertoire. I am continuously expanding my skill-set as a composer, musician, and educator in and around this wondrous realm and have the ultimate goal of touching and enriching lives with the services of music.

Browse at your leisure and feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I will update this site regularly.
